Abstract
The purposes of this study were to investigate the developmental aspects of adaptive behavior of children with autistic disorders being educated under the inclusive education setting. The subjects of this study were 17 children with autistic disorders, among them, the degree of disability of 10 children was mild, that of 7 children was severe. The method of this study was longitudinal research during 2 years. And the age of participants were 10 years old at the beginning. The results of this study were as follows: first, the total score of adaptive behavior between severe and mild autistic disorders had big difference. The developmental aspect presented a steady advance except motor area, but many changes didn¡¯t occurred during 2 years. Second, children with the severe degrees of disability presented big difference on a case by basis. Third, children with the severe degrees of disability presented more developmental advance from 10 years old to 11 years old. And to conclude, the adaptive behaviors of children with autistic disorders were increased under the inclusive education setting. Also the mean difference did¡¯t presented between 3 groups(10, 11, 12 age) through ANOVA(ANAlysis of Variance). In spite of relatively long period research(2 years), this research had a limitation, thus further researches should expand the ages of the subjects, and whether the more subjects have a difference on developmental aspects.
